US Tax Desk explains the US business-tax changes that actually move money — for the advisors, investors and finance teams who have to act on them, and for the people just starting out who are expected to understand them by Monday.

What we publish

  • Tax Watch — a short, plain-English briefing every Wednesday on a change making news right now, in six languages.
  • Deep Desk — long reads every Tuesday and Friday that take one contested tax question apart: the arguments on each side, the numbers, and who wins or pays.
  • Tax Talk Decoded — the terms you'll meet on a PE, private credit or real estate fund, most with a diagram and a worked example, plus longer explainers on the structures behind the headlines, from carried interest to Up-C IPOs.

How we work

Every piece starts from primary sources — the Code, Treasury and IRS guidance, court opinions, JCT and CRS analysis — and reputable reporting. We link our sources so you can check them. We don't take sides on policy: where a question is contested we set out the strongest version of each argument and leave the verdict to you.

We use AI tools to help research and draft, and every article goes through fact-checking passes before it is published. If we get something wrong, tell us at hello@us-taxdesk.com and we'll fix it and note the correction.

What we're not

We're not your tax adviser. Everything here is general information and analysis, simplified where it helps understanding. Real situations turn on facts and documents we can't see — talk to a CPA or tax attorney before you act.

No ads, no paywall

We don't run advertising, sell your data or put articles behind a paywall. Our newsletter only ever sends you our own writing, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what we collect.
